Refresh Your Summer Facial Services With These Easy Ideas

Things are heating up this summer and with 100-degree temps, humidity, and sun, comes a whole new set of skincare issues for your clients. Acne (face and back), dryness, redness, inflammation, and clogged pores––these are just a few of the top summer skin problems. Sounds like an opportunity for you as a skincare professional, right? Summer means it might be time to take a look at your facial services and see how you can freshen things up with treatments that help solve these seasonal skincare challenges. Here are a few easy ways you can help your clients achieve exactly what they need right now––glowing summer skin.

Evaluate

Start by making a list of the top summer skincare concerns your clients are dealing with. Take a look at your products and see what you need to add to your inventory. Then evaluate your facial treatments and see if you can modify what you are already doing, or should create a brand new summer facial treatment.

Educate

Use your consultation time to provide your clients with the right information so they understand what is going on with their skin. Talk to them about the effects of sun, sweat, and sunscreen so they understand what is happening and why. This education can go a long way in helping them with their at-home skincare routine as well.

Treatment Ideas

Boost business and client relationships by adding treatment specific ideas to your services roster. Some summer facial ideas include:

  • Hydrating Facial: Combat summer dryness by offering a treatment specifically designed to heal moisturize-starved summer skin. Use products made from all-natural botanicals to help smooth, soothe, and firm the skin.
  • Acne/Bacne: Your clients are using sunscreen, moisturizers, and are working out and sweating more––all of which is leading to clogged pores. Create a deep cleansing facial, neck, and back treatment that exfoliates, treats and replenishes the skin.
  • Anti-Aging: Long summer days can leave every fine line and wrinkle exposed. Balance and restore skin tone (focus on inflammation, redness, and sun damage), and treat fine lines and wrinkles by using rejuvenating and firming treatments for smoother, supple skin.

Follow Up

Talk to your clients about their at-home skincare routine, and then check in to see how they are doing. Most daily skincare routines should go in this order:

  • Cleanse: Skin type specific to properly cleanse and balance
  • Serum: Power-packed, they improve overall skin tone and texture
  • Moisturize: Healing and hydrating, moisturize day and night. Don’t forget an eye cream
  • Protect: Sunscreen every day!
  • Exfoliate: Two or three times a week, preferably at night, especially in the summer months
